Spending the last month in Portland has been great. I’ve been able to settle into the good kind of routine, get Overcoming the Fear of Uncertainty about 94% completed, and spend time with family and friends.
However, for as much as I love being home, sometimes opportunities present themselves that are just too good to pass up. Such has been the case with the Jet Blue All You Can Fly Deal. For those of you that were living under a rock last week, this deal lets you fly as much as you want, anywhere Jet Blue travels for a month.
That’s right, Location 180 is coming to you! Well, to some of you. I’ve had three trips that I’d been wanting to take this year, and for one reason or another I’d kind of resigned to not taking any of them until next year. Needless to say, when this deal showed up, I jumped on the opportunity.
The full itinerary is still a bit up in the air, but at this point there are three destinations that I have pretty set:
- First stop will be Philadelphia and New York City. I’ll spend a total of about a week in the area hanging out with some friends from Thailand, checking out the Unconventional Book tour, and FINALLY getting to see a little bit of the Big Apple, after unsuccessfully trying to plan a trip for years.
- Next stop, Austin, Texas. I can accredit one of the most fun weeks of my life to this city, and now that one of my best friends is living down there, there’s no reason not to go! Anyone in the area have any suggestions or want to meet up? Let me know!
- The last almost guaranteed trip is down to San Diego. I’ve been working with a few people down there all year, so to have the chance to go and see the office and hang out a bit would be a pretty cool experience. I’ve been to San Diego twice now, and both times its been cloudy and on the verge of rain, so I’m excited to see what really makes this city as spectacular as everyone says it is.
At this point I’m also considering going to Chicago, Vegas and maybe a few others, but most of it revolves around where I can find a free place to stay.
I’ve also gotta say, this opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time. Recently, I talked about my desire to live a glory life. I want to continually be doing fun, exciting and unique things in my life. While a trip to New York, may not be all that unique, it does ensure that I don’t get too comfortable resting on my glory days and keep mixing things up.
This trip will also serve as a bit of a symbol of having overcome the fear of uncertainty in my life. Last year, the same deal was offered, and I wasn’t able to capitalize on it due to my job requirements. Well, I’ve been through a lot over the past 12 months, but having the freedom to take a trip like this now is pretty cool.
While I still don’t have an exact date for the product launch, I can say that it will happen before the end of my trip. I may be throwing out a few free test memberships in the next week, so join the newsletter (in the sidebar) if you want to check out one of those! Also take a look at the Facebook page as well!

You’ve got my invitation in Chicago.
Thanks man! Still keeping that in mind, I may swing through Chicago at the end of my trip to NYC around the 15th of september perhaps. I’ll keep you posted
Indy…Indy…Indy =)
Though it doesn’t exactly require a flight, you have a place in Seattle if you decide to pass through! Sounds like a freaking blast! I miss the road so much already Colin actually had to talk me out of going for that deal
Have a blast!
It’s been a strange summer, weather-wise in San Diego. Hopefully you will get to see San Diego in all her glory. It truly is a gorgeous city. We just moved to northern CA coast from San Diego … our own mini test run with location independence living. We have a guest cottage if you are in/near Gualala area. (No major airports nearby, definately requires a car).
You’ve got a place in Boston!
Cheesteaks in Philly!
If you go to Boston I’ll make the trip down there!
@Joel, We’ll see, we’ll see. Hasnt been super high on my “to-see” list
@Sophia Thanks for the offer, I’ll definitely let you know if I make it by that direction! Probably wont be this trip though, as I’m doing everything I can to avoid getting a car
@Alan I may just take you up on it!
@Rob Can’t wait!
@Nate May have to coordinate with Alan and make a stop in Boston a reality!
Tacoma has a couch with your name on it!
If you can pick me up at sea-tac, i may just make it up there!
