About

Hello and welcome to Location180!
You are probably wondering who I am. Well to put it in the simplest of terms, I am just a guy trying to get the most out of life that I possibly can.
After my college graduation I spent a little over two years crunching numbers as an analyst for an investment firm. I learned a lot about myself in the process. Aside learning I have a distain for ties, I also realized that I didn’t want to spend my entire life chained to a desk working for someone else.
That’s where Location 180 comes in. Location 180 was started in April 2009 to document my personal 180 degree turn in the direction of my life. I wanted to have the freedom to do the things that inspired me, and got me excited. It happens to be that travel and entrepreneurship are two things that are vitally important to me.
In October 2009 I left my job to start the pursuit of my dreams. If this is your first time at the site, there are a few things I would recommend checking out first to get a better idea of who I am and what this project is all about:
- The List. This has been the main motivation for everything I am doing. This is an ever evolving compilation of the things I hope to accomplish before I die. Location180 was initially designed to hold myself publically accountable for accomplishing this list. I have made a lot of progress this year, and next year is shaping up to be even better! Additionally, check out the video of me accomplishing #16 on the list, just because it’s one of my favorite posts.
- My Last Day. This was written about my last day in a “traditional” job. The comments alone should give you an idea of the kind of community that has evolved here.
- Archives. Here you will find everything that has ever been written. I bet you will find something that catches your attention. And, well, if you don’t, let me know. I will write something just for you.
Essentially Location 180 is all about bringing people together to ensure we all live lives we are excited about. A year ago, I wasn’t excited about my life. Right now, I am totally stoked and can’t believe how much things have changed!
Take a look around, introduce yourself, and most importantly, let me be the first to say “Welcome to Location180″.
