What Are You Thankful For?

Well it is Thanksgiving morning, and I am not going to  lie, I don’t have much of a post prepared today.  I have been spending the last few days down in Eugene with my family, remodeling bathrooms, and seeing some old friends before I take off in January.

However, I didn’t want the holiday to go unnoticed.  Many people breeze by Thanksgiving and use it as nothing more as a reason to eat, drink and be merry.  While I hope to do all of those things, I wanted to recognize that this year in particular, I have a lot to be thankful for.

Note: There are probably thousands of posts like this floating around the internet, so I apologize, but I am still going to give you mine!

When I look at everything that has happened over the last few months, in a lot of ways it doesn’t seem real.  For so long, I as on the traditional path, and was living a very routine life.  Now I have been working for myself for the last month and am preparing to move to SE Asia.  I am thankful that despite some setbacks I have continued to push through with the implementation of my “Location180″.  When I started this blog I was unsure of how it was going to turn out, and to be honest I didn’t really expect it to last more than a few weeks, so to see 6 months of work and growth  is pretty incredible.

This brings me to the next thing I am thankful for: you.  All of you.  Going through all of the comments and emails that I have received since this began, I have learned more and met more people than I could have ever anticipated.  I know I say it a lot, but I want to say it once more, thank you for your continued support and making this community as great as it is.  With that said, I am constantly striving to keep the  writing interesting and useful, so if you have any thoughts on ways I can make it better, please let me know!

Finally, I want to say that I am thankful for my friends and family; and my girlfriend Tate in particular.  They have been through a lot as I go through this transition and continue to pursue the goals I have set for myself.  Some of you have asked how she is handling my move, and while it hasn’t been easy, she has been the most supportive person out there.  And for that I am truly thankful.

Life has been pretty good to me as of late, and was made even better earlier this week when I finally sold my car.  It took months of talking about it before I could really commit to pulling the trigger, but now that it is done it feels great, and is one less thing I have to worry about over the coming weeks.  With that being said, if you see me walking down the streets of Portland, feel free to pick me up!
