Before I go into my post for today, I would like to make a quick public service announcement.  I was going to write a post entitled “Bangkok Dangerous” – however, out of respect for those who are concerned for me (mom, I’m looking at you) I will refrain until I am either out of the country or things return to normal here.

As most of you that have been reading Location 180 for awhile know, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Chris Guillebeau.  He started a blog from nothing and has turned his personal brand and business into one of the greatest internet success stories I’ve come across – oh and he does it all by helping people achieve similar goals.

I remember having coffee with Chris a good nine months ago back in Portland and he began telling me about his Empire Building Kit Project.  Essentially it is a program designed to help people build a $50-150k/year “lifestyle business,” defined as a business that has fewer than 3 employees and enables you to make a living doing something you love.

The premise seemed awesome.  He mentioned that this was going to be his most ambitious project to date and would be aimed at a different audience than the previous Unconventional Guides.  This one is aimed at people that are serious about taking action to start a business.

So often people get started with programs like this and then fall off the wagon.  Well he makes it extremely easy to continue progressing with these emails that all include small actionable tasks you can to do improve your business.  It’s almost like he is holding your hand through business creation for an entire year.  I think that is really going to appeal to some newbies out there looking to make a change.
