Dear Reader,
Today marks the official one year anniversary of Location 180. Wow. It kind of snuck up on me, much the way that Cinco de Mayo, St. Patrick’s Day, the Super Bowl and every other big American event that no one cares about here has.
But in all seriousness, the last year has without a doubt been the most profound I’ve ever had. For the first time in my life, not only did I outline a path that I wanted to follow, but I acted on this plan in some extremely rewarding and terrifying ways.
Looking back, I can safely say it has been completely worth it.
This past year has been all about my transformation. If you were around for the early days you had to put up with a lot of whining, cluelessness, and all around uncertainty in my writing. While I still have uncertainty in my life, it isn’t nearly as daunting as it once was, because at least now I am heading down the right path. I know as long as I keep moving forward in this direction I will get where I want to go, whereas I wouldn’t have been able to say that this time last year.
So mission accomplished. Job quit, business started, travel in progress. Now what?
Whereas the last year has been all about me and why I wanted to make the changes I have, this next year I hope to transition to the how. I’ve touched on some of the things that enable me to live this life, but I haven’t gone into much of the details. This is going to change.
Anyone that wants to make major change in their life can do it. They really can. Its all a matter of turning your uncertainty into something positive, and being willing to take action when the right opportunity presents itself.
I really wanted to do something big for my one year anniversary, but I’ve been pretty busy lately and wasn’t able to put something together in time.
Busy with what you say? Well…
If all goes according to plan, I will be launching my first premium product here at Location 180 on June 15th. What initially started out as a short manifesto, has evolved into a monster. When I started thinking about all I’ve learned about taking action and instigating positive change, I knew that I could help others do the same thing. So now that has left me with a huge book, tons of video, some podcasts, and a resource section that will ensure you have ALL of the tools necessary to do whatever you want in life.
Thats all I am going to tell you for now. If you want more details sign up for my mailing list, as I will be sending out something next week in which I will discuss more of what will included, as well as offer some special deals for subscribers. Not to mention as incentive for signing up you get my FREE podcast discussing creation of a remote work agreement.
All that said, there is really only one other message I want to get across in this post.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.
One of the most important aspects of change is having a support system. You guys have all been there to help me through the process, and for that I am eternally grateful. Hopefully I can give back at least a little bit of what you have enabled me to do.
All that said, is there anything specific that you would like to see me talk about in the coming weeks and months at Location 180? As mentioned, I want to transition to less about me, and more about YOU. So what questions do you have? What do you want to learn more about? Leave a comment or shoot me an email with anything you’ve got. I’d love to hear from you.
Also if you have yet to check out my Facebook page now is an excellent time to do so ![]()
xoxo,
Sean

That’s awesome. I wish you all the best for the next year.
“So what questions do you have? What do you want to learn more about?” – I would like to read more about entrepreneurship, especially e-business/internet marketing (like My Five Favorite Money Making Bloggers).
I’m thrilled I discovered your site Sean.
Keep up the great work. I just entered the blogging world and loving it so far. I have a lot of ideas for how to expand, which I’m looking forward to. Thanks for the inspiration!
When you get a chance, check it out
I would LOVE feedback.
@Mike Thanks for the comments! I checked out your site, it looks like you are definitely on the right path! Keep me posted on your progress, and lets chat soon.
@Wilson Thanks for the question man, I will try to get a post together about that soon, but the short answer for me is to do both! There are so many different routes you can take when it comes to online ventures, but I think starting a blog is the best way to dive in to everything else. You already have that going for you, so at some point I would definitely explore other options such as affiliate work or product creation.
@Eric Thanks for stopping by! I am definitely excited about the product, and will be revealing a lot more about it in the coming weeks. Enjoy the trip and let me know if you find yourself in Thailand!
@FS Definitely taking plenty of pictures and still having the time of my life. Thanks for the continued support!
@Jonny I have really enjoyed following you as well. I can only imagine what the next year is going to bring after everything I have experienced in the last 12 months – I have high hopes!
@Ami Those are all really good topics to consider for future posts, I will see what I can come up with. I have definitely changed a lot in areas where I may not have anticipated it, and I am exactly the same in other regards. But it would definitely be a good exercise for me to go back and see what has happened.
@Brett If you do, I definitely don’t think you will be disappointed! Also, I checked my email, but didnt see anything
@MK Thank you!
@Tony Me too, the rest of the year should prove to be very interesting!
@David It still blows me away that I’ve actually done all of those things, and at the same time the change seemed so fluid and natural. There are so many cool and unique ways that people can go about enriching their lives, they just have to be willing to take a chance. I hope to see a lot more people doing that in the coming year.
@Matt It’s been great getting to know you over the last couple months! I am really excited to see where your own journey leaves you. I think by the time all is said and done, your story is going to be much more exciting than mine
@Rasheed You are the man. You’ve been here since the beginning and I cant tell you how much I appreciate all of the support you have shown along the way. I certainly won’t stop playing the guitar – as a matter of fact, I am playing more than ever these days. Man, I missed it!
@John Thanks John! I feel like I havent seen much of you lately, it would be great to catch up sometime and hear about the things you’ve got going on.
It’s really cool to see that you’ve accomplished so much in such short time.
My biggest question with becoming location independent is…should you start an online business or just blog? I am really confused when it comes to this part. The whole muse and automation part of it.
I just discovered your site. It looks great!
My girlfriend and I are going to be traveling around as well. Maybe our paths will cross.
Congrats on your new premium product. I hope it does well for you and connects you to some cool people.
Eric
Congrats dude! Happy anniversary! Don’t forget to take A LOT of pics on your journey so you can look back and smile!
Best,
Sam
Congratulations on keeping at it for an entire year, many don’t. Blogging takes a huge amount of commitment, dedication, effort and hard work and this milestone is a credit to you and you should be very proud.
I have enjoyed following your blog over the last 6 months and have taken alot from it. I hope some day I will be able to give back some of the value you have given me.
Best of luck in the coming year and I hope that this next year of blogging, should you choose to continue it will be an even greater success.
Happy Birthday. May the year to come be as rewarding and exciting and fresh as the year just ended.
You’ve been pretty good about taking us along for the ride and sharing some of the external observations and changes you’ve experienced. Might be interesting to know how you have changed internally over the year – if your decision making processes have changed, if your outlook has changed (and how), if your list of admired people has changed, your bucket list, etc.
Hey Sean,
This sounds awesome. You’ve sold me your vision of your premium product and I’m definitely thinking of picking it up once June 15th comes. I’ve been following your blog since December and I think what you’ve done in that time is nothing short of amazing. It’s really inspirational to me, and I hope you keep up the good work.
Oh, and check your email inbox
Congrats on the anniversary. It has been a pleasure to follow your journey over the past year. Here’s to more success!
That awesome! I’m looking forward to your plans man. Keep up the great work.
Congratulations Sean!
You really accomplished a lot over the past year. You grew your blog into a very big one, and you’re living in BKK and earning money online. That’s admireable.
David
Sean, congratulations on the 1 year anniversary of what has become one of my favorite blogs to follow. It’s been fun watching you transition to where you are today and I’m excited to see where you go from here.
You had an amazing year, man! I’m really glad that I found your site, it’s provided me with tons of encouragement. THANK YOU for staying loyal to us readers and continuing to be a great example of what’s possible if make your mind up and take action.
Congrats, Dude!
You have come a long way since you stared, and you have been an inspiration to me and others, I know.
Keep on rocking the world, and don’t forget to play your guitar.
Rasheed
