If you’d prefer to skip the review and just check out the Unconventional Guide to Publishing, you can do so here. As you probably know, I try to keep the promotions to a minimum here at Location 180, but when it comes to something Chris Guillebeau releases, I’ll almost always do a write up. Why? Well for one, I work with the guy, so I want to show my support. Two, he consistently puts out the highest quality content (both free and paid) on the internet. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, his Unconventional Guide to Publishing is exactly the product I’ve been looking for lately. As I mentioned yesterday in my 2012 goals post, the last 6-12 months have resulted

The gist: Want more time to spend with your friends and family, while still making enough money to keep living a great lifestyle? Check out the Only 72 Sale. You won’t be disappointed. Also scroll to the bottom for a VERY special offer from me. This is a pretty special week. This is one of the only times of the year where you have an opportunity to build a veritable library of tools and resources that have the power to completely change your life. Most of you know that I do very few big promotions each year here at Location 180, and the Only 72 sale is the only one that I heavily promote. Why is that? Because it blows anything

While I was living in Bali there was one thing that set me apart from pretty much every other person I was hanging around with: I didn’t have a Kindle. It took all of about a week before I realized this needed to change, and so I set out to figure out which one would be right for me.  As it turns out, the Kindle Fire was announced at pretty much the same time, and for $199, how could I turn it down? Honestly, the real reason I bought it is to read books.  I’ve been reading like crazy lately, and my computer screen just isn’t cutting it. So rather than buy a Kindle right away, and despite the fact

If you’ve been paying any attention to the tech world lately you’ve probably heard about the debacle that is Final Cut Pro X.  For those of you who don’t know, FCP has been the defacto standard for professional video editors over the last few years, and Apple just released the newest version of it. The reactions weren’t just bad, they were scathing.  The editors of the Conan show even made a video about it. I’ll say right now, these bad reviews from the pros are completely justified.  I’m not sure how Apple could release a “professional” level application that won’t allow you to import old FCP projects, but will allow you to import iMovie projects. That said, most of the features

Today I’m launching my first product for Daily HDR called “Make Your Photos Not Suck: 50 Tips to Improve Your HDR Photography” it’s only $14.97 and it rocks Has anyone ever taught you the importance of “shipping” when it comes to entrepreneurship? I’ve had more people than I care to count tell me about this concept. Shipping in this sense has nothing to do with freighters crossing the Atlantic, but rather actually following through with your projects and getting them to market. I mean, what’s the point of doing something if you’re just going to let it sit and gather dust? I learned this lesson the hard way with my latest ebook that launches today called: “Make Your Photos Not Suck:

Check out the Travel Hacking Cartel It’s no secret that I’m a HUGE fan of Chris Guillebeau. Well, hell, I better be considering I work with the guy. That said, there’s a reason why I’m such a fan and why I always get so excited for pretty much everything he does: it’s because he does it better than just about everyone out there. If he’s going to design a business course, he doesn’t just slap something together.  In his Empire Building Kit, he put together heaps of case studies, and wrote 365 emails to ensure you stay on course throughout the whole thing.  The text in these emails adds up to well, well over 100,000 words – essentially making it

As most of you know, I try to keep the product reviews and notices to a minimum here at Location 180, but I think most of you will agree that this is one worth talking about. In fact, I’ll even go as far to say that this is the best deal on information products that I’ve ever seen.  Ever. What is the 72 Hour Business Book Deal? Karol Gajda of Ridiculously Extraordinary and Adam Baker of Man Vs. Debt have put together a collection of 21 of the best business guides on the internet today, and for 72 hours are offering them ALL for sale together for a grand total of $97.  The retail price of all of these books

So as most of you reading this know that about three weeks ago I launched my very first premium product: Overcoming the Fear of Uncertainty.  The project was a long time coming.  I started working on it in November of 2009 and expected to have the much smaller version of it launched in January.  Well things don’t always go according to plan, but nearly 9 months later I was finally able to get something I was really proud of out to the world. That said, it certainly wasn’t all roses and chocolate.  Yeah, I just said that. There were a wide variety of things that I did well, and many more that I totally sucked at – so in the

In the past I’ve talked about how great the iPod Touch with IOS4 is for travelers.  While that is still a fantastic tool, recently I’ve come across a device that completely puts that, and its older brother the iPhone 4 to shame – the HTC Evo 4G. For years now I’ve sworn I wouldn’t drop a ton of money on a monthly service plan for any device, regardless of how cool it was – and up until last week I’d done a really good job of it.  After living in Thailand where cell phone ownership is dirt cheap, I had every intention grabbing a Go Phone and then using my iPod Touch and Skype to piece together a way of

I wasn’t going to write this post.  I’m always really reluctant to post product reviews on this site, because I don’t have a good sense of how you guys react to them.  I’m very wary that people will think I’m selling out, or being greedy or something like that. Then I realized, those of you who care just won’t read this post. So if thats you, have a good weekend and I’ll see you again on Monday! Then I also realized something else. This product is totally worth writing about. Many of you have asked me how I make money.  Well I make money from no less than half a dozen different sources, but affiliate links on this site and
